Influencer Marketing: A Trend to Follow?

Lately, the number of brands that utilizes influencer marketing has grown to significant sum. Numerous companies or even organizations collaborate with noted influencers or popular figures on the internet so that their products or services get endorsement from the internet celebrities followed by many. What about you?

As you might have heard, Influencer marketing literally means having internet celebrities endorse a product or service by giving reviews after they try the mentioned product or service. Influencer marketing has begun to dominate in the last five years. Companies search influencers to obtain better reputation for their brands as by getting positive reviews from influencers, especially the well-known ones, their products or services will be recognized by the influencers’ followers too, with the hope to convert them into customers.

According to Business Insiders, the budget for influencer marketing will keep increasing in the next three years up to 2022. For social media influencers, brands mostly collaborate with instagrammers to promote and endorse their products. The collaboration between brands and Instagram influencers varies from free product gifts collaboration, coupon codes special for influencers or even to the paid endorsement.

Why Do You Need Influencer Marketing?
In the last few years, most marketers have proven that influencer marketing works just as efficient as the regular paid marketing campaigns. When you select the right influencers for your products, you will receive not only authentic endorsement but also free product testing on the market by someone having high influence that could be the turning point of your brand success.

Dominating influencers are followed by their fans because these fans would like to get inspiration about the “perfect” lifestyle they could apply in their daily life. When an influencer reviews your product or service positively, it is more than likely that his or her followers will be interested in trying your product or service too, especially when they are searching the same type of products.

With influencer marketing, you are working to achieve brand awareness and probably also, better conversion rate compared to those not using this marketing strategy. By saying brand awareness, I’m talking about real engagement on social media and reputation when these influencers’ followers begin to talk about you and share the review on their profiles too. Imagine about the signups and sales conversion you can obtain from positive endorsement and reviews.

However, Be Careful…
Yeah, you read it correctly. Be careful when you pick influencers to collaborate with. You don’t want influencers who gain followers or fans from buying and who exchange engagement (likes or comments). And yes, let me tell you, many do that. You have to be extremely cautious about the one you will collaborate with.

You don’t want these as you want genuine engagement from these influencers or you are going to waste both time and money without any conversion. Maybe you can get some brand awareness as their fellow influencers’ friends start to hear about you but you certainly also want conversion other than just awareness and reputation.

So, pick collaboration wisely and track thoroughly as you desire profitable returns. When you choose them right, the partnership will be fruitful and both you and your influencer will get satisfaction from a successful campaign.

Video Marketing: The Future for Brands and Web Marketers

There was time when written posts were enough to capture the interest of your web visitors. And then, there came the adoption of images and other visual contents that began to dominate the internet marketing strategy. Now, the viewing of video has been increasing in the last few years, especially in 2018 and 2019. I dare to tell that the number is not going to go down.

By 2020, it is estimated by Cisco that there will be like a million minutes of video every second on the internet. They also predicted that more than 80% of traffic driven to websites will be influenced by videos. This means that if you really want to improve the value and reputation of your brand plus increase conversion, this type of content production is the one you should consider next year no matter it takes more time and hard work to dedicate. Well, success is expensive, isn’t it?

Bear These Basic Rules in Mind though...

Make It Concise, Precise and Right on Target

This is the first rule. Keep it brief and right to the point. People want to have good reason on why they should finish watching your video. Good promotional video shouldn’t last more than 30-60 seconds max. Even for longer video, you should make it precise and assure that it is worth watching.

Get every second useful for your viewers as the impression you make on your video will be considered as the real face of your brand, establishing your reputation. If you are a new brand trying to conquer your target market, let me tell you that many wouldn’t watch videos longer than 2 minutes, unless it really has interesting story to tell.

Focus on Telling a Positive Story

Instead of just creating a video simply introducing your brand, build emotional bond with your viewers, which could be your next loyal clients or customers. People love touching story that can capture their heart, fill their desire and satisfy their needs. If you are presenting a product or a service, ensure that you include the ethical value and real culture of your business. In addition, tell also the original history of everything, how you began and how you reach to the point where you are now.

Remember not to produce a video that is all about promoting and selling your product or service without good philosophy that has helped you initiate the business in the beginning. Everyone loves stories, but concentrate on positive and valuable storytelling. Accentuate useful information and educative plot.

Get It Optimized for Search Engines

Nowadays, it is futile to upload superb video online without focusing on Search Engine Optimization. With the growth of web communication in the last decade, you will want your video found by netizens easily, considering they are your potential future customers.

This is why you have to use the right tags and keywords when you post your video as search engines have their own algorithms in finding videos when users are searching. By providing coherent description and proper tags related to the content of your video, you are guaranteeing that it can be found easily.

Remember “Call-to-Action” and Share

At the end of your video, put a clear call-to-action message so the viewers know what to do if they are willing to do something after seeing your video. Captivating call-to-action message will make a huge difference to the result. If you design a weak one, you’re going to lose probable opportunities, meaning you’ll lose profits that might come to you. Use active message that will make the viewers act and keep this message clear and visible at the end of your video.

Last but not least, as we have noticed, digital media tools and platforms have developed unlimitedly. Don’t forget to share your video on social media channels like Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn etc. By sharing it there, if viewers love your video, they can directly share it to their social too. This allows their friends or followers to see your video.

So, these are videos 101: content creation basics you can follow to start effective video making. Whether you agree or disagree, let me know leaving your comment below.

Facebook New Beta Version Is The New Twitter?

This morning, I was surprised when I entered my Facebook account. It told me that I had the chance to try their new beta version. It seems that this new design is released for some random users at the moment, and I am one of them. The first difference that I noticed is that now it allows two types of backgrounds: dark (black or night mode) and light (the existing white background).

My first impression and thought when I saw these two options on the new Facebook was that why it resembles to the new Twitter design that was released few months ago. The position of the menu list on the left and the wall on the middle is quite similar to say honestly.

FB Home

Twitter Home

However, there are certainly some differences between the two. For example: the search box of Facebook is located on the top right while on Twitter it is on the top left. On the right side of Facebook, you can find the list of contacts you can message on messenger while on Twitter,  you find the trending topics and the recommended accounts to follow. Additionally, the new Facebook still doesn’t have color themes like Twitter does (mine is fuchsia on dark background).

Twitter Profile Page

On the profile page, it doesn’t look really similar as Facebook keeps the same position of the old profile design, with difference that it gets tidier and that it has a more modern look. Moreover, the profile pic is now located in the middle just like the app (which I don’t like as it blocks the cover image a bit). There is nothing on the right side of Facebook profile page like the one Twitter has, utilized to display the photos and again, the suggested accounts to follow and trending topics.
Furthermore, another thing that exists on the new Facebook profile page is the gradient coloring present on the sides of the cover image, making it more colorful and alive. As you can see below, the left side follows the gradient color from the grass on the cover image while the right side follows the grayish part of the cover image (my dog’s fur color).

In addition, it seems Facebook also added new grid view compared to the previous one. You know that on Facebook, you can view the posts on your profile page either in a list view or in a grid view. The grid view design has now changed.

Old Grid View

New Grid View

On the new grid view, instead of seeing the caption when the image is hovered by mouse like on  the old version, it is now visible directly as caption under each post. What do you think? Do you like this new grid view?
So, these are the new changes that I spotted immediately when I accessed the new version of my Facebook account. Maybe there are some other new aspects to examine, and of course, also new features. But, those are to be observed once the final release is launched officially by Facebook. For now, let me ask you when you see this beta version at a glance, do you see the “New Twitter” on Facebook? Or, is it just me?
